Risk analysis using species distribution modeling to support public policies for the alien alga Kappaphycus alvarezii aquaculture in Brazil
The native tropical seaweed Kappaphycus alvarezii from the Indo-Pacific region has been introduced in manycountries because it is the main source of raw material for the carrageenan industry. In Brazil, K. alvarezii aquacultureis allowed in 300 km of the southeastern coast. The aim of this study was to analyze the risk of invasionof this species along the entire Brazilian coast to design public policies and to minimize environmental risks associatedwith aquaculture.

A simple spectrophotometric method for biomass measurement of important microalgae species in aquaculture
The development of microalgae culture technology has been an integral part of the production of commerciallyimportant species in aquaculture. This has been the reason to make great efforts in order to understand severalaspects of the microalgae production. The detailed research on monitoring cell growth, which is considered afundamental part for the use of microalgae in aquaculture, has been, however, overlooked. In this paper, acalibration curve is proposed;

The effect of water management on extensive aquaculture food webs in the reconstructed wetlands of the Doñana Natural Park, Southern Spain
Extensive aquaculture in coastal and estuarine wetlands can support both increased food production and widerecosystem services when underpinned by effective management to promote productivity and hence food websthat support both commercial species and biodiversity. Changing hydrology, specifically water movement, withinwetlandssignificantly impacts the physico-chemical properties of thewater body and hence can be employedto manipulate productivity and alter patterns of recruitment of commercial species and may also transfer nonnativespecies from the supplying water bodies.

Utilisation of feed resources in production of Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) in Norway
In 1990, 90% of the ingredients in Norwegian salmon feed were of marine origin, whereas in 2013 onlyaround 30%. The contents of fish meal and fish oil in the salmon feed were 18% and 11%, respectively, in 2013.Between 2010 and 2013, salmon production in Norway increased by 30%, but due to a lower inclusion of marineingredients in the diet, the totalamount of marine ingredients used for salmon feed productionwas reduced from544,000 to 466,000 tonnes.
